DJ Ashraf Hassan, the founder & the first DJ who started the beats as UMT Project, born in Khartoum city, the capital of the Sudan he grew up with an early interests about the music industry since late 90’s.
His first progresses in music started with MC recordings on the cassettes, preparing records of selected tracks for sale, as well as organizing and playing private parties for elite events.
DJ Ashraf names a times as DJ Lapa obtained that vision & passion for music combined with an insistence & desire for life to entertain as many people as possible.

The Millennium 2000, Ashraf arrives to Europe and continues his further process with the music together with Angelo[DJ cross] from London, a former DJ of the group The Prodigy. They made their first house garage records & discovering the world of mixing skills.
Ashraf appreciates his profession as a DJ/Media Producer when he graduated from the Faculty of Radio & TV Productions. This knowledge enriched him with a deeper confidence for continuing and expanding his talents about music and media productions.

Nothing is easy, after years of Solo mixing ,DJ Lapa turns the name to DJ Ashraf when UMT Project in 2004 started to exist while joins DJ M De Fan, his native brother. Together they stand on the scene for a stronger name of Khartoum city, for a dream of becoming the first famous DJ brothers from Sudan.
UMT Project’s main idea is to combine live instruments into modern tunes with a live professional DJ touch.
At present day both DJ Ashraf & M de Fan mixes house electro music on four decks connected to dual mixers at the same timing, creating possibilities to remix tracks one over another plus adding effects, vocals and live MC on the stage.

On his credit, he produced in 2005 ‘Feek Kull Alkalam’ Arabic House remix for the popular Arabian pop star ‘Amr Diab’ and in 2008 the production continues with another Arabic Electro House track [Eurobica] Remix of ‘Samira Said’. Both track were produced as UMT Project production and were promoted in Poland DJ Tour 2006-2007 and presents by DJ Night Booking Agency of Austria.

Now DJ Ashraf is available for any type of entertainments. As Being invited to present Live DJ sets on radio stations, participating in TV serials and club’s video shootings.
As things stand, after promoting the Arabic Electro House, both DJs Ashraf & M. De Fan started to work on producing more records which will bring soon on the labels a new DJ Diploma in 2009.
